Not exactly pre-season predictions since the season has begun, but here are some fun guesstimates for the 2016-2017 NBA season:
- Spurs will have a better regular record the than the warriors. Spurs crushed the season opening matchup so it would not be unexpected news if this were to happen, though the warriors are still the favorites of many.
- MVP will go to LeBron or Westbrook. Likely LeBron. Difficult to give it to Steph or Kevin unless if one of them really carries the team but then, the entire point of Durant joining the team....
- Dwight regains some popularity playing for his hometown and makes the all-star team if he records double-doubles, especially in the generally less-competitive East
- Warriors/Cavs or Spurs/Cavs Final, though that is not saying much since we've all seen this coming
- Harden brings the Rockets to the same kind of result in previous years- playoffs with some clutch moments but not really progressing further than the WCF/ 2nd round
- Knicks will not be more than a first round exit in the playoffs, unless Noah plays a substantial part. Will be a great improvement from last year regardless
- The Bulls will do better than the Knicks but not that much better
- The same [mediocre] fate for Boston as it had achieved last year and the year before that
- PG has a great year for the Pacers, but the Pacers won’t make it past the 2nd round
- JLin makes the all-star team if he continues to start and wins games for the Nets
- Maybe after this season, and sometime in the future, Westbrook and PG join forces in LA [Lakers](!)
- The Clippers will be better than last year; it’s been CP3, Blake and DeAndre for some time now so it's time they make the WCF
- Haven’t really followed this season’s rookies and sophomores, but there have been too many injuries among those who haven't even step foot in their first NBA game
